DEP District Offices, State Parks and Preserve Closures and Re-Openings

 

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) today announced the closure and re-opening of several state recreation areas, preserves and district offices on Friday, August 22. All regulatory and recreation office closures are effective through the weekend and until further notice.

Based on the projected path of Tropical Storm Fay, all state park overnight accommodations from the Suwannee River west to Pensacola will be closed until further notice. Visitors in camping areas or cabins will be evacuated today. Status of state park openings and closings are subject to change over the weekend. For the most current information, contact your local state park directly or visit www.floridastateparks.org.
